Use Your Own Branding
Although the bright orange Roundups branding looks great, its not my own brand.
Looking forward to having granular control over branding elements including logo, color, custom domain etc.
Thanks!

I would love to have the option to replace the roundups logo in the feature Image e.G. for wordpress with my personal logo.

We’re treating Roundups shared to Roundups as a community, so there is some uniformity around the styling that aligns with our goal for the community. We don’t want to be a “WordPress” alternative, or a website host with your own domains and full customization. Might suggest you set up a WordPress and publish content to that. You’ll get everything you need and more from WordPress for customization, styling, domains, etc..

Hi Josh,
Understand…so, if we upload it to our own wordpress website, do we get complete control of branding and coloring etc? Otherwise this is not the product/brand fit we need…I don’t want to be part of a roundup community - I have my own brand and see value in your software to promote using my own branding…

Giving you a custom domain and full branding control and everything you would expect from a full fledge blogging platform like WordPress isn’t the best strategy for us. That’s not a community.
If you look at what Medium does, they have some customizations for brands, yet readers and writers still feel part of a writing community because there is a framework that ties everyone and everything together. The Medium brand is present throughout, and even at the end of a blog, Medium will suggest other blogs for you.
So, I think we can evolve Roundups to be more like Medium, but with a focus on product research. I just don’t want to people to expect full branding capability including a custom domain. Only a tiny handful of people have asked us for that as well. If there was huge demand for that, it would be a high priority but a lot of Roundups users already have a WordPress blog (free) that they are writing with where they have complete control over their brand, look and feel, domain, and customer experience. They are using Roundups as a content engine.

Hi Josh.
Thanks for the feedback.
I did what you suggested and set up a wp review site and linked to roundups and it looks amazing.
Here’s to great things for Roundups!

This could probably be included using the WP plugin, to edit the blocks within the roundup. Everything within the ‘post’ would (or should) follow the post templates & styling of the site.
For more ‘upstream’ control (on the Roundups site) maybe using something like Custom Template Blocks for the sections (and repeaters) of the posts.
