Integration With AFFi / AAWP plugins
Have an OPTION to output the proper shortcode for the specific WP plugin to use for the product detail (instead of display of image, price, rating, buy now button) which allows individualized site settings to govern the look & feel of those things.
Shortcodes are built with a prefix to the ASIN, the ASIN, and a suffix to the ASIN so if we could supply the ‘before’ & ‘after’ code to build the shortcode we wanted the AI to use per ASIN … that’d be golden ;-)
Example (using AFFi plugin):

This plugin (AFFi.ai) is what I use to keep the pricing data, etc. up to date on each product in posts. This pulls the product image, some bullet points, price & rating for me AND keeps it updated. Currently replacing the inserted link (Buy Now) & the linked image with the shortcode for that ASIN is the most time consuming part of making the Roundup usable on our sites.
Hopefully, with our ability to have customized template blocks & an ability to wrap the ASIN in our supplied HTML, we will be able to use the Roundups without as much manual editing.

Currently I need to edit out the price on each ‘Top Pick’ & ‘Buy Now’ link for each item in the roundup. I then ADD an html block that uses the ASIN in an AFFi shortcode for that item to replace the picture directly under the items title (which keeps the pricing updated). It is repetitive actions that is inefficient … but it works.

Just to be a little clearer… this idea would not be to replace ALL use of the existing linking in a roundup (top picks, compare list, etc) but only the ‘per product’ specific links that such a plugin (if someone uses it) would keep the info updated for the post going forward (like current prices & such).
